Japanese Exhibition February 2014 at the British Museum

What amazing carving skills the Japanese had in the early centuries of our time.  This white jade is the most wonderful example of 3DD carving.  No 3D printer used then!

The Glass Prize 2014

This is my entry in The Glass Prize 2014.  'Emerald Energy' consists of a hollow sandblasted lamp base with a solid glass 'dome' - or interchangeable dome, as it is just one of 6 in the series 'Duplication'.

The Glass Prize is an online voting competition, a panel of judges will chose their top 5 pieces and voters will be able to 'like' on the Warm Glass facebook page between 24th March and midday April 10th.

I was sent this video about studying glass in Prague by Gillian Dobias - check it out.

Czech glass is at the forefront of studio glass design and is also the home country of the studio glass movement beginning in the 1950's.
